Does a laser Lesion Removal treatment hurt?

The laser treatment itself is not painful. We apply a topical numbing prior to the procedure. If topical numbing is not enough, we can offer a local anaesthetic which can sting when injected.

What will it look like after the treatment?

Immediately afterwards, the mole will be gone, and a small red mark will appear where the mole was before. This will be covered up with some ointment and a small dressing which can be removed the next morning. The red mark then forms a scab over the following few days, then once the scab has fallen off it will leave a smooth red or pink piece of new skin.

Can a mole grow back after a laser removal?

It is possible for a mole to return after it has been removed. Therefore, it may take more then one treatment to rid of a mole forever, as the cells can be left behind but are too deep to reach on the first treatment.
